A Fall View-Foggy Morning

Well we are in the Fall months. I have noticed that this year fall was been like I remembered as a child. The Scenes are beautiful and the morning are filled with Fog complete with that eerie feeling.
I really like this season, the time in between the summer and winter. It is like the earth deciding which one to embrace. One day it is sunny and warm the next Cool and foggy. We even had a taste of the snow this fall.

The season for hot toddies and outdoor fires. Smores and wieners, Marshmallow on a stick flaming to be blown out and popped into your mouth. Oh, and let's not leave out that cup of Warm spiced Wine!

I got to lights up on the Gazebo and the fire pit in place. Now for the evenings of fire and romance. With the sun going down earlier, we can have that cup of soup and enjoy a roaring fire and still have time for evening shows.

Oh I think it is party time for us!

Coldest Time of the Winter.

We are in the mountains of Western Maryland today. Decided to have a long weekend of Snow Fun. Last night the temps were in the low single digits. With the wind chill it was in the negative numbers! Needless to say we did not go Tubing. It was just too cold. We did arrive about 6pm, so we settle into the rental home and then went out to the market and grabbed something to eat. The ride takes about 3 hours from our home to Wisp. There is plenty of snow here and it was snowing last night. The cross winds are wicked, blowing drifts across the road. Looking like little tornado's twisting in the plains of Oklahoma! Oh yes this is the winter here.

Today we plan on doing some Snowmobiling and then maybe some tubing. I will love to sit by the fire at wisp. When we were here a few weeks ago, There was a great fire at the ice-skating outdoor rink. The photo of it is above. I Love to sit by a fire in the outdoors, there is just something about fresh air and the smell of a burning fire. The warm and coldness at the same time. I takes me back to my younger years living in Colorado.

This will be the first time for me to do snowmobiling. Last season, I went snowshoeing while everyone went snowmobiling. I saw them flip it and then that was the end of that ride. I took me 30minutes to get to them. Due to the fact I was by the lake and had to go around it. I vowed I would never ride on one. Well here I am, going to drive one for the first time in my life! Everyone says I will love it, we will see.

The weather is suppose to be on the low teens this morning and the entire day, so we will layer up. maybe we will rent some cross country skis and do the Nordic trail afterward.

Maizes of Life?

Blue Monday- B&B Garden

On our Northern Sun Loop vacation we stayed at a B&B (Bed and Breakfast). Here are some Blue Monday Highlights of Her Garden.

Dad's Pond

I really Love going to Dad's. He has a fish pond. We (Dad and I ) put the pond in. I remember the fun time we had doing it. Let's see that was about 10 years ago. Made different updates to it since the first time. Now Things are falling apart and Dad stated he did not want to continue it. his word were" When the fish die that will be the end of the pond.". He had not been the same since Moms death Two and a half years ago.
I thought I would post a video and some pictures.
The photo to the left above can be click on for a closer look. it is Dad's reflection in the pond. He is looking at the fish, I took this and then turned it around so one could see dad's reflection.

This is the Frog fountain I bought for their Pond some years ago.

He had many fish in the pond.
These are the ones still there.
Mostly Coy fish now.

I remember years ago he had some Coy's. One year they all disappeared. We thought a cat got them. Because, the Neighbor stated a wild Cat was attacking his.Dad wanted to check this our before getting any more. I was out looking at the Pond and swore I saw a dark one swimming in there. Mom and dad were sceptically due to the fact they had not been feeding any for a long time and dad never had any dark ones. Well that got my daughter searching for it. Low and Behold there was one. It was not one that Dad had put in the pond. Our guess was that the coy fish had babies and this one survived! It was a Black Coy we called it Shadow, because it really did look like a shadow in the pond. Shadow grew to have some color on him, making him look gold. Shadow died last year, he was always a favorite of the family's.

Ruby Tuesday-A Ruby Oasis

Creating an Oasis in my backyard is my dream. A few weeks ago wefound the furniture for the deck. As we began using it we realized that the bees, fly's, mosquitoes and birds loved it also. So, this weekend we put up a Gazebo. We have been sitting out there and working on Laptop or have a nice evening together. You will have to blow up the photo... so you don't miss a thing. Now there are several things one needs for this oasis. Flamingos are on that list, and mine move in the wind. The sound of water, The fountain will be up and running soon. The smells of Flowers, the lilacs are in full bloom now. The Oasis Gazebo, so it is called, has the netting to keep out the flying bugs. A stone patio for eating out.

Ruby Tuesday- Fun in the Snow

Thought I would show you my family having fun in the snow. When we got that first big storm we all adorned our snowshoes and went out for a walk. We are get prepared for that big snowshoeing event in the Mountains of Maryland.

Of course it was night and still snowing. A winter wonderland right in my yard.

Snow,Snow,Everywhere Snow.

We went to bed Friday night with a dusting on the ground. Woke up Saturday with about 5 inches on the ground. It snowed all day and into the night. This morning we ended up with 18 inches. It was nice to have the snow for Christmas time this year. You see for several years we have seen no snow til mid January or February. Usually February the 14th, Valentine day, is when Mr Winter Snow would drop a big one on us. For he knows I love snow. Here are some photos of all our snow.

We used to go to Hershey Park every year when my daughter was in middle school. She plays the Cello in the Orchestra. Each year the school went to compete in a National Music competition. It was called Music in the Parks. We always made it a weekend full of fun. One year we visited the Hershey Gardens. Look what we found!
